The hiking parking lot in Attendorn-Roscheid (directly at the Roscheid farm) is located on the 1 km long access path to the Sauerland-Höhenflug.
Roscheid was first mentioned in a document of the Ewig monastery on October 10, 1463, in a dispute between the monastery and an Attendorn citizen over an inherited plot of land on a "mountain called Rosscheit". It was not until 1601 that the monastery had a "very small Kötter Gut" built on Roscheid. The tenant was to look after the monastery forests there.
In 1893, Hof Roscheid was bought by Emmerich Luke. He had previously worked as a farrier and wagon smith in Petersburg and also ran a carter's tavern there. The farm is still a restaurant today and invites visitors to enjoy food and drink after an invigorating hike.

The "Roscheid" hiking parking lot is the starting point for many beautiful hikes in the Auf'm Ebbe and Berndebachtalnature reserves. In addition to the access route to the popular Sauerland-Höhenflug long-distance hiking trail, circular hiking trails also invite you to spend relaxing hours in nature.
Circular hiking tip along parts of the Sauerland-Höhenflug: The 13 km circular hiking trail A9 is a beautiful tour. Via the access path and in sections via the main path of the Sauerland-Höhenflug, you hike through quarry and floodplain forests into the Berndebachtal nature reserve and through the Wesebachtal valley back to the starting point. If you prefer a shorter tour, follow hiking trail A8, which shortens the longer circular trail A9 to 4.9 km.
Hiking tip for long-distance hikers: from here, the black-marked access trail takes you to the Sauerland-Höhenflug in one kilometer.
