Social media

Our website contains links to various social media platforms. You can usually recognize these links by the corresponding symbols or buttons (Facebook and Instagram).

When you click on such a link, you leave our website and are forwarded directly to the respective platform. Only there does data processing take place by the respective provider. We have no influence on the type and scope of data processing by the third-party providers.

The links serve exclusively to redirect you to our presence or to simplify the possibility of sharing content. Data is therefore only transferred if you actively click on the link.

  • Facebook/Instagram, provider: Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland. Possible transmission to Meta Platforms Inc, 1601 Willow Road, Menlo Park, CA 94025, USA. Meta is certified in accordance with the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

The legal basis for the provision of the links is our consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR, which you give voluntarily by clicking on the respective symbol.

Our social media presence

We operate publicly accessible profiles on social networks (e.g. Facebook, Instagram). The respective providers can analyze your usage behavior when you visit our profiles - regardless of whether you are logged in there or not.

Data such as your IP address or cookies are collected and may be linked to your user account. The platform operators use this information to create user profiles and to display personalized advertising.

Please also note that we cannot track all processing operations on the social media portals. Depending on the provider, further processing operations may therefore be carried out by the operators of the social media portals. For details, please refer to the terms of use and data protection provisions of the respective social media portals.

Legal basis

Our social media presences are intended to ensure the widest possible presence on the internet. This is a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The analysis processes initiated by the social networks may be based on different legal bases, which must be specified by the operators of the social networks (e.g. consent within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR).

Controller and assertion of rights

If you visit one of our social media sites (e.g. Facebook), we are jointly responsible with the operator of the social media platform for the data processing operations triggered during this visit. You can assert your rights (information, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and complaint) both against us and against the operator of the respective social media portal.

Please note that, despite the joint responsibility with the social media portal operators, we do not have full influence on the data processing operations of the social media portals. Our options depend largely on the company policy of the respective provider.

Storage duration

The data collected directly by us via the social media presence will be deleted from our systems as soon as the purpose for its storage no longer applies, you request us to delete it, revoke your consent to storage or the purpose for data storage no longer applies. Stored cookies remain on your end device until you delete them. Mandatory statutory provisions - in particular retention periods - remain unaffected.

We have no influence on the storage period of your data that is stored by the operators of social networks for their own purposes. For details, please contact the operators of the social networks directly (e.g. in their privacy policy, see below).

Use of our Facebook page and processing of insights data

Please note that you use our Facebook page and its functions under your own responsibility. This applies in particular to interactive functions such as commenting, sharing or rating posts.

When you visit our page, Facebook collects, among other things, your IP address and information that is stored on your device via cookies. Facebook uses this data to provide us as the site operator with so-called Facebook Insights - i.e. statistical, anonymized evaluations of usage behavior on our site. This provides us, for example, with information about which posts have been viewed or clicked on particularly frequently.

Joint responsibility with Meta (Facebook) in accordance with Art. 26 GDPR

When processing so-called Insights data in connection with the operation of our Facebook page, we act as joint controllers with Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. in accordance with Art. 26 GDPR. The basis for this is the so-called Page Controller Addendum from Meta.

This agreement stipulates that Facebook assumes primary responsibility for the processing of Insights data. This applies in particular to the following tasks

  • Fulfillment of the information obligations pursuant to Art. 13 and 14 GDPR
  • Ensuring the rights of data subjects (e.g. information, deletion, objection)
  • Implementation of suitable technical and organizational measures for data security
  • Reporting data protection violations to the competent supervisory authority

Our obligations as a website operator include in particular

  • Determining a lawful basis for the use of Insights data (e.g. legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR)
  • Forwarding requests from data subjects or data protection authorities to Facebook

The agreement is subject to Irish law and the jurisdiction of the Irish Data Protection Authority

Further information on the processing of Insights data by Facebook can be found directly from Meta at

https://www.facebook.com/legal/terms/information_about_page_insights_data

Legal basis for data processing

As the website operator, we collect the anonymized Insights data described above for the purpose of statistical evaluation based on our business and communication interests. By using the data, we are able to assess how our posts are received by the users of our site and which topics are particularly interesting. This enables us to constantly improve the content we provide. We therefore base our data processing on Art. 6, para. 1, lit. f) GDPR (processing based on legitimate interests). If you have any questions about our information offering, you can reach us at the following contact details: info@bigge-listersee.de

Assignment to profiles

When you visit our Facebook page, the IP address assigned to your device is transmitted to Facebook. According to Facebook, this is anonymized (for German IP addresses) and deleted after 90 days.

In addition, Facebook stores information about the device you are using, for example as part of the "login notification" function. This allows Facebook to assign IP addresses to individual user accounts.

If you are logged in to Facebook, a cookie with your user ID is stored on your device. This allows Facebook to understand that you have visited our site and how you have used it - even across different Facebook pages. Facebook can also record your activities via integrated buttons (e.g. "Like") on external websites and assign them to your profile. Among other things, Facebook uses this data to display personalized content and advertising.

This allows you to limit data transmission:

  • Log out of Facebook,
  • deactivate the "stay logged in" function,
  • delete all cookies,
  • and restart your browser.

This will remove your Facebook ID and you can use our site anonymously. However, if you use interactive functions such as "Like", comment or share, a login screen will appear - after logging in, you will once again be recognizable as a user.
In your Facebook account, you can customize personalized ads under the advertising settings. You can find further information at

https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=ads

(you must be logged into your Facebook account to do this). You can find out more about advertisements on the following page:

As the website operator, we collect the anonymized Insights data described above for the purpose of statistical evaluation based on our business and communication interests. By using the data, we are able to assess how our posts are received by the users of our fan page and which topics are particularly interesting. Assignment of data to Instagram profiles

When you visit our Instagram page, the IP address assigned to your device is transmitted to Instagram (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.). According to Instagram, this is anonymized - for IP addresses from Germany - and deleted after 90 days.

Instagram also stores information about your device, e.g. as part of the "login notification" function. This may allow Instagram to associate the IP address with your user account.

If you are logged in to Instagram while visiting our site, a cookie with your user ID will be stored on your device. This enables Instagram to assign your visit and your interactions on our site to your Instagram profile. This also applies to other Instagram pages and websites on which Instagram content is integrated (e.g. Like buttons, embedded posts).

Based on this data, Instagram can create personal profiles and tailor content or advertising to your interests - both within Instagram and on other platforms.

If you do not want Instagram to link your activities directly to your profile, you can take the following steps:

  • Log out of Instagram.
  • Deactivate the "stay logged in" function.
  • Delete the cookies stored on your device.
  • Exit and restart your browser.

This will remove your Instagram ID and it will no longer be possible to identify you personally. You can then continue to visit our site without Instagram being able to uniquely identify you.

Please note: If you use interactive functions such as "Like", commenting, sharing or messaging, a login screen will appear. As soon as you log in, Instagram will once again recognize you as a specific user.
