The route is around 34 kilometers long and leads along paved roads through numerous urban and rural villages in Meinerzhagen and Kierspe. It is worth taking a detour to the Fürwigge and Jubachtalsperre dams, which are only a short distance from the route.
Starting from the center of Meinerzhagen (Volkspark), the 34-kilometre paved cycle route takes you past the historic Krim house alley, which is also home to the historic Krugmann distillery, the Meinerzhagen outdoor pool and the Fischbauchbrücke bridge, before reaching the more rural villages. After the Hardenberg district, which rewards you with great views, you pass the Landgasthof Eckern with its high-altitude airport and forest sofas (well worth a detour) and the old Valbert railroad station up into the Ebbegebirge mountains before passing the road above the Fürwiggetalsperre dam, from where you have a great view of the Nordhelle. Here, too, it is worth taking a detour down to the Fürwiggetalsperre reservoir, which you can easily cycle around. The route continues through the Jubachtal nature reserve towards Volmetal, where the path leads through the village of Sankel up to Kierspe. After passing a residential area, the route heads back towards Meinerzhagen, where it passes "Joests Hofladen" (one of Meinerzhagen's many direct suppliers) and later leads via the idyllic village of "Hahnenbecke" to the starting point of the tour, the Volkspark.
