The starting point is the Stoltenberg hiking parking lot. From here, the trail first leads eastwards up towards Niederhengstenberg. You will soon be treated to magnificent views over the gentle mountain ranges of the Sauerland.
The trail continues past charming farms and lovingly tended farm gardens, which are particularly impressive in spring and summer with their splendid flowers. The route then descends again in a southerly direction before meandering westwards to Willertshagen.

The entire circular route runs along quiet, asphalted side roads with little traffic. This makes the tour suitable for families, walkers and anyone who values a well-maintained surface. Despite the comfortable nature of the path, easy ascents and descents ensure pleasant exercise, always accompanied by beautiful views of the surrounding landscape.

From Willertshagen, the route finally heads north back to the starting point at the Stoltenberg hiking parking lot.

Directions

Starting at the Stoltenberg hiking parking lot, we briefly head towards Willertshagen before turning left and following the asphalt path downhill. We cross the still young Lister, whereupon the path climbs again. At the top, we have a great panoramic view of the surrounding area.The path now leads us downhill to Niederhengstenberg. Here we continue along the small road, then walk through the settlements of "Auf der Heid" and "Grünentahl" and finally return to Willertshagen, running parallel to the small nature reserve "Willertshagener Wiesen".From here, it is only a few meters to our starting point, the Stoltenberg hiking parking lot.

As these are also predominantly busy, small roads, the (possible) traffic should always be kept in view.

Public transit

With the RB 25Coming from Cologne or Lüdenscheid, get off at Meinerzhagen station. Change to the bus route R61 and then get off at the bus stop Abzw. Willertshagen. From here it is a 10-minute walk to the Stoltenberg hiking parking lot.

How to get there

Arrival via the A45, Meinerzhagen exit, continue in the direction of Valbert / Attendorn. After a few meters, keep left again in the direction of Willertshagen. Follow the road until you reach the Stoltenberg hiking parking lot.

Coming from the east (Attendorn), pass the Meinerzhagen district of Valbert and turn right towards Willertshagen shortly before reaching the Meinerzhagen urban area, before the highway. Follow the road until you reach the Stoltenberg hiking parking lot.
