NRW Minister of Economic Affairs Mona Neubaur visited the Biggesee-Listersee nature experience area on 4 August 2020 as part of her summer tourism tour.

As Chairman of Sauerland-Tourismus e.V., District Director Philipp Scharfenbaum introduced the topic of sustainable tourism in the Olpe district.

Two tourism service providers in Olpe-Sondern that have made a particular contribution to sustainability were visited: The Ommi Kese See suites and the Biggesee passenger boat service. Both businesses have the TourCert Qualified seal for sustainable and responsible tourism. Owner Nicole Keseberg briefly introduced both businesses.

In addition to Minister Neubaur, representatives of the tourism associations also took part in the tour: Dr. Heike Döll-König from Tourismus NRW, Dr. Jürgen Fischbach and Anna Galon from Sauerland-Tourismus e.V., Anne Reucker from Tourismusverband Biggesee-Listersee, Silke Niederschlag from Olpe Aktiv e.V. and Kristin Meyer from the Hanseatic town of Attendorn. Prof. Dr. Christoph Donner from Ruhrverband, Elmar Miebach-Oedekoven from Lux-Werft und Schifffahrt GmbH, Stephan Britten from IHK Südwestfalen, Jochen Ritter MdL, as well as local press representatives were also on site.

We would like to thank everyone for their interest in our beautiful Biggesee-Listersee nature experience area and look forward to many more visits!
