Raukweg - Around Kierspe

The heraldic animal of the town of Kierspe is the raven, also known locally as the Rauk. This is why the circular trail around Kierspe, which was established in 2006, was christened the Raukweg, although the trail markings only show the raven from time to time, but are marked throughout with a white double bar on a black background by the Sauerland Mountain Association.

Author Tip

Places of interest:

Schleiper Hamm:
A hammer mill from the middle of the 19th century. The former hammer mill has been restored since 1989 with a turbine drive, transmission and spring and drop hammers. The development of the Bakelite industry is documented in the upper part of the hammer mill. Aussichtsturm Wienhagen: 479 meters above sea level, the tower was built in 1929 and renovated in 2000 by the citizens of Kierspe and the SGV, Kierspe section. The Kierspe artist Werner Baumgart painted the inside of the tower according to the motto "Run through time". This painting has turned the tower into a real work of art. The viewing platform can be reached via 72 steps.

Fritz-Linde-Stein: A memorial stone dedicated to the local poet Fritz Linde, born July 26, 1882, which was inaugurated on September 30, 1950. Fritz Linde wrote mainly Low German poems and stories, which were published in 4 books.

Thingslinde: Natural monument, reminiscent of the time of the Feme.
